Forming Collaborative Partnerships with Families Affected by Brain Injury
Abstract:
Using Participatory Action Research methods, we developed a training for families in how to observe and record data about the behaviors of the family member with brain injury. We developed a semi-structured interview process to be used by professionals to gather information from families in preparation for their training. We worked with eight families to refine the training: a process in which the caregivers developed data collection procedures, interpreted their data, and used their data to make intervention decisions
