Acute Hospital Injury Severity Measure: The Therapeutic Intensity Level (TIL)

Abstract:
Measures of severity taken in the acute care setting do not account for the intensity of treatment required to maintain the physiological stability of the patient. Thus such measures provide misleading information about injury severity, and have weak association with outcome. The purpose of the Therapeutic Intensity Level (TIL) is to record the intensity of therapeutic interventions that patients require to keep their intracranial pressure under control
