The Cost Effectiveness of Early Enterostomy Tube Placement After Traumatic Brain Injury
Abstract:
Objective: To evaluate two types of enteral feeding, nasogastric and enterostomy tubes, to determine their relationships with outcomes.
Subjects: Persons with TBI who were enrolled in the TBIMS longitudinal study.
Design: Data were collected on the type and timing of tube placements in acute care and rehabilitation, as well as associated medical complications.
Results: Due to difficulties with the complicated data collection procedures associated with this project, results were interpreted with caution and were not found to warrant publication.
