An evaluation of state and federal costs of TBI as a function of outcome at discharge
Abstract:
To study how public medical costs and outcomes differ among persons receiving usual care as opposed to telephone follow-up intervention through an analysis of treatment cost-effectiveness.The study is a two group experimental design. Cost will be measured over the period of one year post-injury. Outcomes (measured in years of healthy life) will be collected at discharge and at 1-year post-injury using the Medicare and Medicaid cost database and the University of Washington TBI Model System database
