Prediction of Postacute Rehabilitation Outcome by MPAI Disability Rating

Abstract:
No psychometrically-sound assessment tools are currently available for evaluating persons for postacute brain injury rehabilitation. The Mayo-Portland Adaptability Inventory (MPAI) may be such a measure. Goals of the study are: (1) evaluation of the MPAI as a predictor of treatment outcome and level of treatment required; (2) evaluation of measures of self-awareness of deficit and rehabilitation process as predictors of treatment outcome and level of treatment required; (3) determination of the value of other treatment outcome predictors.
