Incidence, Impact and Causes of Sleep Dysfunction after Traumatic Brain Injury

Abstract:
Sleep difficulties are relatively common following brain injury. However, there has been only limited study of the effects of sleep difficulties on long-term outcomes. This longitudinal study tracks sleep difficulties during inpatient rehabilitation and at one year post-injury, with the latter compared to sleep difficulties of friend controls. Predictive factors and associations with long-term outcomes are being investigated. Commonly used medications for improving sleep will be identified
