Assistive Technology for Cognitive/ Behavioral Deficits
Abstract: This project has several components dealing with the use of
portable electronic devices as cognitive/ behavioral orthoses in
post-acute TBI rehabilitation. In one component, digital voice organizers were shown to improve clients' recall of treatment goals and plans discussed with clinical case managers, in a randomized within-subjects trial (Hart et al., Use of a portable voice organizer to remember therapy goals in traumatic brain injury rehabilitation: A within-subjects trial; Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation 17:556-570, 2002).
